Peter Greenaway continues as Dorchester Chamber for Business President with Steve Bulley returning as Vice President.
Peter said; “I am delighted to be able to serve on the Dorchester Chamber for Business Committee for another year and am very proud and pleased to have been elected by the Executive members for my second year as President. Let’s hope that the 2021 / 22 year will see us continuing to return to a more normal business environment than we have had over the last 20 months or so.
“I would like to thank the Executive Committee for all their support over the last year – it is always very much a team effort. As I said at the AGM, 3 of the Executive Committee have decided to stand down and special thanks to them – of course they may return in the future! Will Spurling, David Selves and David Taylor stood down and we are very pleased to welcome 3 new members to the team, Robert Kennedy from Albert Goodman, Luke Rake from Kingston Maurward and Robin Cole from Blanchards Bailey. We all look forward to working together for the business community.
“Jon Edge has taken on a new role with his employer and has decided not to stand as Vice President for the next year. A familiar face agreed to take on that role and I am delighted that Steve Bulley will be Vice President for the year. Jon will continue with his role as Treasurer.
“I look forward to seeing you at the events over the next year. As always if you want to contact me you can do so via email, or give me a call on my mobile number in the Business Directory or on line.”
Steve Bulley added; “I’m honoured to be asked my the executive committee to serve as Vice President for a second time. I have been involved with the Dorchester Chamber for 10 years and remain passionate about our town.”
The President’s Breakfast was to be held at Athelhampton House on 14th December, but sadly they are upgrading their heating system to be more environmentally friendly, and the works have over-run, so they are unable to offer and hot food until early in 2022.
This event will now be held at the Dorset Museum on the same day. It will be our second breakfast there since coming out of lockdown and, like Shire Hall, it is a lovely venue so please come along to network. We will again be having the raffle to raise money for local Dorchester based charities. Porter Dodson have kindly agreed to accept prizes at both their High West Street and Poundbury offices and the Town Council will also take them if that is more convenient. It is always a great opportunity to have some festive celebrations (although maybe fewer than usual due to Covid) and to network with other local businesses.
