Dorchester Chamber, Dorchester BID and Dorchester Town Council have formed `Team Dorch’ to launch the Shop Local, Shop Safe … Shop Dorch campaign. It’s designed to get the message out that we need the local community to support their local high street, to shop safe and to shop in Dorchester. The campaign is supported by Dorset Council’s wider county-wide campaign to Stay Local, Shop Local.
Phil Gordon, Director of Dorchester BID, said: “The harmony, creativity and positive spirit of co-operation has been exactly what I would expect in a time of crisis, and I feel proud to be part of `Team Dorch’ as we move forward to whatever the new normal will be.”
While we are experiencing tough times it helps to spend with local retailers, where the money stays in the local community and benefits other businesses and people in the area. All of the shops that are open have done everything required to keep us all safe, introducing social-distancing and following Government guidelines.
A new Facebook Page – LoveDorch has been created and a new website, www.lovedorch.com , is currently being built. On both you will be able to find useful local information and links.
