Visit Dorset is checking with businesses who are open or about to be open whether they are Covid confident.
This includes those businesses that feature on its website to check that all their listings information is correct. In addition to the usual opening times and special offers, the facilities section includes a new Covid section to promote all the measures they have in place to keep staff and customers safe.
Alongside VistEngland/ VisitBritain ‘We’re Good to Go’ award, the AA has launched its own Covid Confident scheme. This is a free scheme open to all hospitality establishments that pass the AA’s criteria.
The accreditation will indicate to customers that an establishment has in place the necessary risk assessment, safety measures and staff training to reopen safely, in line with guidelines. It is open to all hotels; B&Bs, guest accommodation, restaurants with rooms and pubs with rooms; self-catering properties; camping, glamping and holiday parks; hostels; serviced apartments; visitor attractions; restaurants; pubs; and golf courses.

There is also a reminder that take-away businesses, including pubs, which had toilet facilities for customers to use prior to lockdown can open their toilets to customers and are encouraged to do so to avoid local problems.
Before opening toilets, a business needs to carry out a risk assessment and put measures in place to reduce risks, including appropriate cleaning.
