VisitBritain/ VisitEngland are running a series of webinars to help drive the nation’s tourism recovery. Offering practical insights and information to support business needs, the webinars will run between June and August. The webinars are free but do require prior registration on the VisitEngland/VisitBritain website.
There are a number of different themes to the webinars, as follows:
1: Moving to a ‘new normal’:
Spotlight on inbound and domestic research and insights
Tuesday 30th June: 14.00 – 15.00
Covering the latest data and trends about tourism in England/to the UK in the months ahead and how this might impact your business.
Business adaptation and reopening
Thursday 2nd July: 10.00 – 11.30
Looking ahead to the re-opening of the tourism industry and at some of the key factors to be taken into consideration, with case studies from across different tourism sectors.
Speaking to customers in a post-Covid world
Thursday 9th July: 10.00 – 11.00
With experts reiterating that “tourism will recover but it will never be the same again”, this will look at the stages of recovery identified by VisitBritain/VisitEngland, at the approach adopted by other destinations and discuss how the industry can speak to customers to build confidence and recovery.
2: Pressing the reset button on English tourism:
Using travel technology to maximise your business
Thursday 16th July: 10.00 – 11.00
Providing an overview of some of the technology solutions available, and how they can facilitate business recovery, this session aims to give an insight into the some of the options available and how they can help get businesses back on track.
Sustainability
Tuesday 21st July: 10.00 – 11.00
Sustainability and over-tourism were hot topics before the Coronavirus pandemic. And then tourism stopped. This will look at some of the challenges the industry faces and ask whether this is an opportunity to reset the dial with regards to the environmental impact that tourism has in England. What steps we can take for a more sustainable future for the industry?
Accessibility
Thursday 30th July: 10.00 – 11.00
With accessibility a factor for at least 1 in 5 visitors, and with Coronavirus presenting a range of new accessibility challenges, this will look at what considerations need to be taken into account moving forward. There will be practical steps, real examples and advice as to where you can go for guidance.
