It’s that time of year again – Dorchester Christmas Cracker Night is just around the corner.
The OFFICIAL start to Christmas in Dorchester is at 5.30pm on Thursday 3rd December.
This event has been running for several years now, and the turn-out gets better every time.
We’re expecting a big crowd, and hopefully there’ll even be an appearance from Father Christmas himself, accompanied by one or two of his elves and reindeer!
Can this year be the biggest yet?
Free parking is available in Dorchester Car Parks from 4pm.
Dorchester Christmas Cracker Night Festivities:
Let There Be Light:
The town’s Christmas lights will be switched on at 6.30pm.
We’re reliably informed that a small party of Minions will be entrusted with the honour this year – so we can’t guarantee it will all go smoothly – but do come and join in with the fun!
Late Night Shopping:
As well as all the usual entertainments and amusements, Dorchester Christmas Cracker Night is also an opportunity to do some late night shopping.
A large number of our most popular shops and other businesses are staying open into the evening for you to peruse at your leisure.
Many will be doing something a bit special, so look out for free giveaways and other exciting things going on all evening!
Christmas Stalls:
Obviously the stalls are a big part of the experience, creating an authentic Christmas market feel with everything from mulled wine to mince pies and hog roasts.
In the evening the Anonymous Travelling Market will be located along High West Street, with charity and local stalls located in South Street.
There will also be a Christmas Craft Fair in the Corn Exchange from 2.00 – 9.00pm.
Free Santa’s Groto:
The man himself will be flying in from Lapland to take up residence in the Wessex FM bus for the evening. He’s been very busy this year, so do come and say hi!
See You There!
