Attendance was very good as Dorchester Chamber for Business held its first evening event of the year at Wessex Royale Hotel on 20th April. The Chamber, presently celebrating its 100th year, particularly held the event to make the Chamber accessible to those members that cannot attend the ever- popular monthly breakfasts. The event also aimed to encourage new members to find out more about the Chamber and meet other members.
Members were able to network with representatives from other businesses and meet the Executive Committee of the Chamber. After an introduction to the workings of the Chamber by the President, Steve Bulley, the keynote speaker Clive Ozzard provided an inspiring and useful insight into the highs and lows of running a business.
Steve Bulley said “This was a very pleasant and enjoyable evening. It was very good to see a range of businesses who cannot attend at the breakfast meetings and to meet with them. The success of the event demonstrates the merit in holding evening events as one way of enabling businesses to engage with each other and maximise business opportunities.”
The Chamber holds popular breakfast meetings on the second Tuesday of each month, which get booked up very quickly and usually have in excess of 60 attending. Any members who have not attended a Chamber event are always very welcome. Visitors are allowed to trial events twice before joining.
